Community involvement is something we value deeply, and recently some of our team had the pleasure of spending a fun evening at the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society’s annual “A Tail to Remember” Dinner and Auction. The event brought together local businesses, supporters, and animal lovers for a shared purpose: helping more animals find safe, loving homes within our community. Attorney Deanna Rusch is co-president on the Board of Directors and Collin McKean works closely with the charity throughout the year.
Hosted as an elegant evening of dining and fundraising, A Tail to Remember was much more than a social gathering. The funds raised during the dinner and auction directly support the Humane Society’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals throughout the Columbia Gorge. Every bid placed and every ticket purchased helped provide medical care, shelter, and adoption services for animals who need it most.
A Night of Generosity and Impact
The evening featured a thoughtfully curated dinner paired with a lively auction that showcased an impressive array of donated items and experiences. Guests had the opportunity to support the cause while enjoying a night out with friends and colleagues, all while contributing to meaningful, life‑changing work.
Supporting Animal Adoption in Our Community
The West Columbia Gorge Humane Society plays a vital role in connecting animals with families across the region. Funds raised at A Tail to Remember help expand adoption efforts, cover veterinary expenses, and ensure animals receive the care and attention they need while awaiting placement.
By supporting events like this, we’re helping strengthen a system that benefits both people and pets, creating safer communities and promoting responsible pet ownership. Adoption doesn’t just change an animal’s life; it enriches households and builds lasting bonds that benefit everyone involved.
Grateful to Be Part of Something Bigger
We’re thankful to the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society for hosting such a meaningful event and for the work they do every day. It was inspiring to be surrounded by so many individuals and organizations committed to making a difference through compassion and generosity.
