Paralegal

Jennifer DeVore

Jen has been part of Portland’s legal community since 2004, beginning her career as a legal assistant at a prominent plaintiffs’ medical malpractice firm. With parents in nursing and pharmacy, she quickly found a natural affinity for medical/legal work. Over 12 years, she developed a deep sense of advocacy for injured individuals and a passion for the law.

In 2017, Jen transitioned into probate and estate planning, specializing in probate and settlement services as a paralegal case manager. She continued supporting injured individuals, minors, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Her work included obtaining court approval for personal injury settlements, as well as conservatorship, trust administration, and Medicare/Medicaid planning.

Now, Jen is excited to return to medical malpractice, working exclusively with Partner David Shannon. As his primary paralegal, she manages cases from start to finish, offering clients compassion, guidance, and strong advocacy through life-altering challenges.

Jen has been an Oregon Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) member since 2004, and she studied mechanical engineering in college and paralegal studies locally at PCC.  Outside of work, Jen and her husband enjoy cooking, traveling, and comedy shows.  She loves attending performances of her trumpet-playing son and taking him to drum corps shows.  Jen is also a life-long Lions fan and frequently travels to Metro Detroit to visit family who still reside where she grew up.  She attributes her Midwest upbringing for the “grit” and tenacity she has and now uses to benefit her clients.
