Jen has worked in Portland’s legal community since 2004. She began her career as a legal assistant at a successful plaintiffs’ medical malpractice firm and quickly discovered a connection with medical-legal matters, likely due, in part, to her parents’ lifelong careers in nursing and pharmacy. During her 12 years with that firm, Jen developed a strong sense of advocacy for injured individuals and discovered a love of the law.

In 2017, Jen transitioned into the areas of probate and estate planning. As a paralegal case manager, she specialized in probate and settlement services, continuing to represent injured individuals, as well as minors, the elderly, and individuals with differing abilities. Her work in settlement services allowed Jen to maintain connections with personal injury attorneys by helping them obtain probate court approval for settlements reached on behalf of clients. She also gained experience in conservatorship and trust administration, Medicare/Medicaid planning, and traditional probate practices.

Jen is now thrilled to return to medical malpractice law and to be working exclusively with Partner David Shannon. As David’s primary medical malpractice paralegal, Jen will work closely with clients and manage their files from start to finish. She aims to be a trusted advocate, providing compassion and guidance for clients as they navigate life-altering events.

Jen has been a member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) since 2004. She studied mechanical engineering in college and completed paralegal studies locally at PCC. Outside of work, Jen and her husband enjoy cooking, traveling, and attending comedy shows. She loves watching her trumpet-playing son perform and taking him to drum corps shows. Jen is also a lifelong Lions fan and frequently travels to Metro Detroit to visit family who still reside in the area where she grew up. She attributes her Midwest upbringing to the “grit” and tenacity she now uses to benefit her clients.
