Full Bio

Known for her attention to detail and the zealous manner in which she defends her clients, Mindy Stannard handles divorce, custody, parenting time, paternity, child support and Family Abuse Prevention Act Restraining Order cases.

A long-time Portland-area resident currently based in Washington County, she is well-versed in the complexities of issues like high conflict custody cases, divorces involving the division of business interests and high asset divorce cases in both Oregon and Washington.

“Each county has different rules that apply to family law cases, “ she says, “and I make sure to keep up to date on changes and explain to each client how those local rules and practices affect my client’s case.”

Before joining McKean Smith, Mindy worked at a general practice firm in estate planning, criminal law, real estate law, personal injury and civil litigation. All of these areas relate to issues in family law, giving her a broad background to tackle the complexities of family law cases. “I frequently draw on the knowledge gained from my past work with other areas of the law in my current practice,” she says.

Mindy is an accomplished lawyer, with awards as a Super Lawyer Rising Star, Super Lawyer and an AV Preeminent rating.

When she’s not advocating on behalf of her clients, she likes to spend time with her husband, Jeremy, and her dog, Nelly; cook; garden; camp; entertain and explore the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
